The revival of “Oklahoma!” will be the first Broadway show to join a new gun-related initiative that aims to mitigate the depiction of gun violence
When the revival of “Oklahoma!” arrives on Broadway this month, it will bring to life the classic 1943 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, replete with rough-and-tumble depictions of the American frontier. Naturally, that means the presence of prop guns throughout the show.
To “offset” those fake firearms and send a message about the consequences of gun violence, Eva Price, producer of the revival, has joined a new gun-related initiative. “Oklahoma!” is the first Broadway show to do so, Ms. Price said.
