High school sports reporter Bailey Johnson often writes about the special connection between coaches and players for the Columbus Dispatch.readers selected the Athlete of the Week for competitions that took place from April 18-24.Peterson went 3-0 with a 2.70 ERA with 25 strikeouts over 20 innings as a pitcher and went 6 for 10 at the plate with a home run, triple, double, five RBIs and three stolen bases in three games.
Peterson received 40% of the vote and was followed by Dublin Scioto softball player Bella Jauregui , Dublin Jerome lacrosse player Brady White and Bexley baseball player Jonathan Spiess .Jauregui, the runner-up, batted .615 with two triples, two grand slams, nine RBIs, seven runs and two stolen bases.Spiess, Bexley baseball: Threw his third no-hitter of the season in a 4-0 win over Grandview Heights, striking out nine and allowing one walk. For the season, he is 4-0 with a 0.
