Also: While continuation of Title 42 is inhumane and a real danger to those immigrants...

, Public Law 104–130 was a federal law of the United States that granted the president the power to line-item veto budget bills passed by Congress, but was soon ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.

Congress has the power of veto if its members only had the guts to use it. It’s called committees and subcommittees who decide which bills are voted out of committee for a floor vote and which ones die in committee. Committee members should be held accountable to show more common sense in reducing the amount of waste in bloated bills like the spending bill just passed. Most of those attached pork rider bills in the omnibus bill should have died in committee.

," : I suspect many in the Biden administration are secretly hailing the Supreme Court’s decision to prevent them from ending Title 42 expulsions as a win. This gives President Biden cover. He can say he tried hard to end the practice but was prevented from doing so by SCOTUS. At the same time it prevents some immigrants from applying for asylum, slowing the flow. This can only help the Democrats.

While continuation of Title 42 is inhumane and a real danger to those immigrants huddled at the border, politically, it helps the Biden administration.
