French telecom giant Orange has struck a multi-year partnership with OpenAI, gaining access to pre-release AI models and sharing data to train African language models for customer service and government use.
The French telecom operator Orange has partnered with OpenAI for a multi-year collaboration in Europe . The deal grants Orange access to pre-release versions of OpenAI's AI models, offering the company a direct billing relationship and the ability to influence the development roadmap.
Orange also announced a deal with Meta and OpenAI to translate African regional languages, sharing data in Wolof and Pular to train large language models, which will be used for customer support and other non-commercial clients
