The Oscars may be about celebrating the last year in film, but the 2022 AcademyAwards found time for a little nostalgia by reuniting PulpFiction stars SamuelLJackson, JohnTravolta and UmaThurman to present an award.
The trio came on to give out the award to Best Actor, and in their introduction they included many of the iconic lines that film fans have been reciting for the last three decades.
Thurman referenced a"$5 milkshake," while Travolta quoted the"Royale with Cheese" monologue from the movie. Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta at the Oscars. The trio were reunited to celebate their film"Pulp Fiction."This reunion comes 28 years after the film's first release in 1994. All three were nominated for acting Oscars in the 1995 ceremony, but none won. In fact, of the seven nominations the film was nominated for, only Quentin Tarantino took home an Oscar for his screenplay.
In a Times interview, he said:"I should've won that one." He then went on to attack the voting body for not nominating him for his role in Spike Lee'sThe acting legend, whose only Oscar nomination was for Pulp Fiction, said:"My wife and I went to see. Damn! They got nominated and I didn't? I guess black folk usually win for doing despicable shit on screen."
