Police are searching for a driver involved in a high-speed crash with a stolen car on Monday night. The driver reportedly left his 16-year-old passenger in the roadway.
, a 2021 Kia has stolen two days ago in the Feltonville neighborhood of Philadelphia. The car was stolen just a few blocks away from where it would be crashed days later.
“It clearly appears that speed was a factor,” said Scott Small, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector, viaAccording to an eyewitness, the Kia ran into the back of a 2006 Honda while at a red light between Roosevelt Boulevard and Rising Sun Avenue. The impact of the Kia hitting the Honda caused the stolen car to flip over multiple times.
When the car rolled over several times, the teen in the passenger seat was thrown from the car onto the roadway. First responders declared the 16-year-old dead.“More than likely the reason the driver of the Kia fled the scene of the accident was due to the vehicle in stolen status,” Small added.Read more via
