SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres lost the 2022 NLCS 3-1 to the Philadelphia Phillies.
The team quickly became one of the most exciting teams to watch in baseball, and the fanbase was not shy in showing their enormous support. Padres GM AJ Preller and Manager Bob Melvin held a end of the season press conference to thank the fans, and answer reporter questions regarding next year’s team.
At the press conference, Preller said he hopes to see one of the newest Padres, Juan Soto, in a Padres uniform for a long time. Preller was also asked by the AP’s Bernie Wilson if we could see Fernando Tatis Jr. play a position other than shortstop next year, and Preller responded saying he would like to see Tatis “on the field.”
