The People's Action Party has re-elected Chan Chun Sing and Desmond Lee as assistant secretaries-general and confirmed outgoing secretary-general Lee Hsien Loong as a committee member. The new leadership will oversee the party through the upcoming general election scheduled for next year.
The People's Action Party ( PAP ) held its 38th central executive committee (CEC) meeting on November 24, 2024, where the leadership for the next two years was decided. Education Minister Chan Chun Sing and Minister for National Development Desmond Lee were re-elected as assistant secretaries-general. Outgoing secretary-general Lee Hsien Loong will continue to serve as a member of the committee.
The new leadership will guide the party through the next general election, which must take place by November 2025. Other elected members include NTUC secretary-general Ng Chee Meng, Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and National Development Sim Ann, Mayor of North East District and MP for Tampines GRC Desmond Choo, and former MP Lam Pin Min
