Pearland High thespians are planning a busy schedule of shows, starting with “Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at Certain School of Magic.”

Potter-inspired comedy to kick off Pearland High theater season

Julia Frederick, shown performing in the Pearland High School production of"The Sweet Science of Bruising" in March, is an officer for PHS Troupe 3916 this year. The school's season will include “Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at Certain School of Magic” and “Disney’s Descendants: The Musical.

“The design process for the show is a creative challenge,” added assistant theater director Cheramie Hopper. “We have technical-design students who are ready to bring the spaces and characters to life on stage.”'Disney's Descendants' coming in January “They have to choose whether to follow in their parents’ wicked ways or learn to be good,” Barker said of the villains' offspring.

At last year’s state convention, then-junior Julia Frederick advanced to the international festival, where she sang “I Love Play Rehearsal” from the musical “Be More Chill.
