A 15-year-old boy was fatally struck by a vehicle in north Houston Sunday night, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The boy had been crossing the street with another 15-year-old near 702 Rankin Road around 7:30 p.m. when he was hit, Capt. Anthony McConnell of the Harris County Vehicular Crimes Division told On Scene reporters.As homicides decrease, one deadly night shows how domestic violence is rising in Houston area
Witnesses told authorities the car had the right of way and its speed did not seem greater than what is legal, McConnell said. It was not immediately clear whether the boy had been within a crosswalk when he was hit, McConnell said. The driver stayed at the scene after the vehicle hit the boy and McConnell said intoxication did not appear to be a factor in the crash.Please avoid the intersection of imperial valley and Rankin rd. Accident investigators will be working a fatal crash scene. Please pray for those involved. Also pray for support and strength for their friends and family.
