Further, when asked if he believes there should be a national abortion ban law, Pence said that he thinks that the heart of the conservative movement has included a "commitment to the unborn over the past 50 years." However, he said he thinks there is a "real misunderstanding" about the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade, that the Supreme Court only returned the question of abortion to the states, rather than also to the American people.
And when one looks at Democrat-controlled states where more than half the abortions in the United States take place, that means there is an argument for a minimum national abortion law, said Pence.
