“It was kind of nice to see a lot of people in the same boat,” said 28-year-old Chicago attendee Priya, who spoke on the condition that her last name not be used because she doesn’t want her parents to know she attended the convention. “That was kind of a relief to see that you’re not the only one who’s trying to come out here and just find love.”The key events were the speed-dating sessions where we met people one-on-one for a few minutes at a time based on age and sexual orientation.
