The animal rights organization took advantage of the recent stock market downturn to influence decisions at nearly a dozen fashion companies.

This is not great news unless you're PETA, and have developed a strategy of buying up stock at major fashion companies in order to push your anti-animal product agenda at board meetings.
The names in this round of purchases include some of the biggest apparel companies in the country, as well as a few abroad: Ralph Lauren, Urban Outfitters, Guess, Burberry, Chico's, Express, J. Jill, Deckers Outdoor Corporation ; Tapestry, Inc. , Aritzia, Lands' End, Capri Holdings , Target, Under Armour, Kering SA and Qurate Retail Group .
