That marks the first time this season Mrázek will start back-to-back games. He will have made appearances in the club’s last four games, including a 10-7 win over Detroit on Saturday when he came on in relief of Jack Campbell, whose status as the team’s top goalie is being questioned. Campbell has a solid 23-8-4 record with a .917 save percentage, but the latter mark is .887 since the turn of the year, and he has given up 14 goals in his past three starts. Campbell has allowed four or more goals in eight of his last 14 games.While the Leafs have given up the sixth-fewest goals in the NHL, their goaltending has come under criticism, with speculation the club will need veteran help if they don’t get a strong stretch from the Campbell-Mrázek tandem.
