Marcos told reporters: “Why waste time on it?”
Philippine Vice-President Sara Duterte said on Nov 23 that she had hired an assassin to kill the President, his wife and his cousin in the event that she herself were killed.
Congresswoman France Castro was quoted by ABS-CBN News as saying on Nov 29 that lawmakers in the Lower House were set to file an impeachment complaint against Ms Duterte for betrayal of public trust, bribery and other high crimes such as plunder. Ms Duterte has been embroiled in a bitter row with Mr Marcos and his cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, since the collapse of a formidable alliance between their two powerful families that helped Mr Marcos win the 2022 election by a huge margin.
