A staff member, who declined to be named, told Shin Min Daily News on March 11 that the man was a private-hire driver. He had driven his car, which was not ferrying any passengers, to the pick-up point. It is unclear whether he was there to pick up a passenger or if he had pulled over after feeling unwell.
"Members of the public and building security rushed to help. Someone performed CPR while others called an ambulance," the staff member said. Paramedics arrived and took the man to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
