Attempted murder suspect Isiah James Thompson An 80-year-old Oregon man is "lucky to be alive" after he was beaten with a chain and padlock and stabbed by a homeless teenager he bought food for, according to the Seaside Police Department.Tuesday on several charges that include attempted murder, robbery, and unlawful use of a weapon for the October 27 incident.
The victim stated that on Oct. 27 Johnson contacted him for "help" after seeing his car in the area, and asked the victim to buy drugs. The victim said he drove Johnson to the victim's home and they entered the residence. The victim offered him a beer, and let Johnson use his shower and get dressed. Arrest documents say that the victim was stabbed and beaten with a chain and padlock around the face and head "20-30 times."and drove off. The victim crawled to a neighbor's house, and the neighbor called for help.
After the vehicle theft, Thompson reportedly sped east on Highway 26 toward Washington County. WCSO deputies noticed the speeding car and started a pursuit near the Highway 47 interchange, saying the suspect was driving faster than 100 mph.
