A day after a woman was run over and fatally shot during a carjacking Tuesday morning, investigators found her car and a possible motive.
Houston police are looking for the two people believed to have shot a 65-year-old woman during a carjacking on Yorkchester Driver in west Houston.Authorities found a woman's stolen vehicle a day after she was killed during a carjacking in the Memorial area.
"Judging by the video surveillance that we viewed, and the fact that there are some family dynamics that we are certainly looking into, I don't believe this is random," Det. Dustin Crowder, with the Houston Police Department, told ABC13. When authorities arrived, they found Walters dead in the parking lot after she was shot, pushed out of her SUV, and run over by the carjackers, according to police.
"The patrol sergeant had a hunch this might be a good place to hide a police vehicle. He checked it out, and it turned out his hunch was correct," Crowder said. "We think there were two or three individuals involved. You can see them on the surveillance video. People here may not be the same individual. We do know they tried to burn some evidence and they were unsuccessful."
