Two suspects have been arrested in connection to a July homicide. Police announced on Monday morning the arrest of two individuals connected to a homicide in July.
David Allen, 20, has been charged with murder and Jakai Watts, 21, has been charged with tampering with evidence, officials said in a news release.Police responded to the 400 block of Tompkins Street near the Ohio History Center and the Historic Crew Stadium around 2 a.m. on July 28. On arrival, officers said they found Nasier Reid, 23, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead by Columbus fire personnel about 15 minutes after police arrived.
Officers said Allen was identified as the suspect in the homicide and was arrested on Oct. 3 and booked in a Cleveland, Ohio jail. He is awaiting extradition back to Columbus. Court records show Watts was arrested in July. He has pleaded not guilty. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730.
