Polish club Hutnik Krakow's most recent results have aroused suspicion, and the third tier club have now called on the Polish Football Association (PZPN) to investigate, they said in a statement on Tuesday.
Hutnik's last two games saw them take a 3-0 lead in both fixtures, only to end up on the losing side. They lost 4-3 at Lech Poznan II and on Sunday went down 5-3 at home to division leaders Kotwica Kolobrzeg.
"The club asked the Disciplinary Officer at the Polish Football Association to... carry out an analysis in order to examine whether there was a match-fixing phenomenon in the case of the last two matches," the club said, after what they described as two embarrassing defeats. The club have also suspended one first team player with immediate effect and another has had his contract terminated by mutual agreement.WTA Finals champion Iga Swiatek said the poor playing conditions in Cancun forced her to focus on her game instead of being distracted by the prospect of regaining the world number one ranking.
