Data shows that as many as two-thirds of American high school graduates have underdeveloped reading skills. But it’s a big exaggeration to say that such students can’t read their own diplomas, as Sen. Tommy Tuberville claimed.

But he is badly mischaracterizing the state of literacy in the U.S."Tuberville said,"Half the kids in this country, when they graduate, can’t read their diploma."
