In Victoria, where more than 1500 Porter Davis homes remain unfinished, the state-backed Victorian Managed Insurance Authority has already received more than 600 claims sinceGrant Thornton’s Matt Byrnes has advised customers to delay lodging insurance claims until the liquidators have concluded the process of finding builders to take over the unfinished work.
“There may be a role for the VMIA in providing advice, but we’re not the financier of last resort,” Mr Andrews said.
