BEIRUT: Lebanon's president said on Friday an investigation into the biggest blast in Beirut's history would examine whether"external interference" had a role, as residents tried to rebuild their shattered lives and homes after the explosion.

He said it would also consider whether it was a result of negligence or an accident. He previously blamed negligence in thePresident Michel Aoun visited the seat of the massive blast but he and the rest of Lebanon's political class face angry questions over how a shipment of highly explosive fertiliser could have been left stored for years in the heart of the city AFP/-

His family home is in Gemmayze, a district that lies a few hundred metres from the port warehouses where 2,750 tonnes of highly explosive ammonium nitrate was stored for years, a ticking time bomb near a densely populated area.
