The duke wrote via his and Meghan Markle’s Archewell website that while Elizabeth’s passing brings “great sadness,” he is “forever grateful” for her.

He continued, “Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings—from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren.
“I cherish these times shared with you, and the many other special moments in between. You are already sorely missed.”Harry concluded by thanking his grandmother, noting that she and her late husband, Prince Philip, have been “reunited … in peace.” The tribute came four days after the Archewell website went dark, showing only a simple message mourning the sovereign’s loss.Buckingham Palance announced on Thursday that the Queen had died after sharing earlier in the day that“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon,” the royal family tweeted. “The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.
