A fourth accuser took the stand at Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex-trafficking trial, testifying that when she was 16 years old, the British socialite touched her breasts during a massage at Jeffrey Epstein’s New Mexico ranch

Before Ms. Farmer testified, U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan instructed the jury that Ms. Maxwell and Epstein’s physical contact wasn’t illegal sexual activity in New Mexico. At age 16, Ms. Farmer wasn’t a minor under that state’s law. She told jurors to consider Ms. Farmer’s testimony if it is relevant to the issues at stake.

Ms. Farmer said she and her sister visited Epstein’s Manhattan home and he greeted her warmly, speaking to her about what colleges she should attend. He later surprised the sisters with tickets to “The Phantom of the Opera,” Ms. Farmer said. On a separate night, Epstein, Ms. Farmer and her sister went to a movie, where, Ms. Farmer said, he occasionally caressed her arm and foot.

“I know it sounds like me trying to justify him doing something weird but it isn’t,” she wrote in the journal. Ms. Farmer’s mother, Janice Swain, also testified Friday that Epstein had called her before the New Mexico trip to say that her daughter would be among several students at his ranch. Epstein told her that “his wife, Ghislaine,” would chaperone the female students during the trip, Ms. Swain said.
