25 cm of snow is possible today due to expected snow squalls in the area

A City-declared Significant Weather Event remains in place for the Sault as snow squalls are expected throughout much of the day today.

Environment Canada issued a snow squall warning for the Sault and St. Joseph Island areas earlier this morning with 15 to 25 cm of snow possible by Sunday and wind gusts of 80 km/h.The clearing of residential areas and designated sidewalks will be delayed until the main roads and collector roads have been cleared and are safe.

Residents are advised that snow plowed at the end of their driveway during significant snow events is their responsibility and may be more than usual.
