Ahh, ssssnake!

Perak Fire and Rescue Department Director Sayani Saidon said that they had received a distress call about the incident at 11.28am on Monday , reported Sinar Harian."As one officer caught the snake, another lifted the victim," he told the daily.

He noted that despite the possibly near-death experience, no injuries were found on the boy after a physical examination and that boy was then handed back to the caregiver. He added that the snake was then released back into its natural habitat, far from any human settlements. The snake is believed to have been an Equatorial spitting cobra, known by its scientific name of Naja Sumatrana, which can be typically found in tropical forests around Malaysia.

They can grow up to 1.2m and are known to be fairly non-aggressive towards humans as they mainly feed on small animals like rodents and frogs.
