THOUSAND OAKS — The Rams spent last week working through practice with loud music blaring, hoping to prepare the offense for the hostile environment they would face against the Seattle Seahawks.
“He’s so conscientious,” Coach Sean McVay said. “I thought Coleman’s command, his toughness, his competitiveness, his ability to be able to communicate, his ability to understand what was going on in real time because he has such a big picture understanding for the game, it was excellent.” Now the former undrafted free agent is one of the veterans of the Rams’ offensive line room, and he has been tasked with helping rookie Steve Avila on his left and Joseph Noteboom as he adjusts to a new position at right guard.
“Honestly for me, I listen to what he says, I let him figure it out,” Avila said. “I know this is my first year and I have a lot to learn from him and all the other offensive linemen, because I do want to get to that level where I understand every other thing that’s going on.
