Ten days after getting throttled by the Bills, the Rams could have matchup challenges Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons’ promising playmakers
INGLEWOOD — For 10 days, the Rams were asked constantly how they can get wide receiver Allen Robinson more involved after a quiet team debut in the season-opening loss to the Buffalo Bills.
The 10-day wait after a Week 1 dud that raised many questions for the reigning Super Bowl champions is finally over, as the Rams host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at SoFi Stadium. The Rams have another mobile quarterback to worry about with Marcus Mariota, who joined Atlanta this offseason with hopes of reigniting his career.
The Falcons’ option plays will keep the Rams’ defenders on their toes, and maybe off the ground against 6-foot-4 London, the Moorpark native, and 6-foot-6 Kyle Pitts, the team’s rising star tight end. London, the eighth overall pick in this year’s draft, had a memorable debut with five receptions for 74 yards on seven targets.
London, however, will have a tough matchup against Ramsey, who’s looking to bounce back after a subpar performance against the Bills. It might require a team effort for the Rams’ defense to contain Pitts, the 2021 fourth overall pick.
