Mika Zibanejad left Sunday’s intra-team scrimmage with an undisclosed upper-body injury and did not return for the remainder of practice.

Mika Zibanejad left Sunday’s intra-team scrimmage with an undisclosed upper-body injury and did not return for the remainder of practice, according to multiple reports that came out of MSG Training Center.

It is unclear how long Zibanejad will be sidelined, but it’s safe to assume that the Rangers will err on the side of caution when it comes to the 30-year-old. There are still nearly three weeks until the Rangers’ opening night in Buffalo, so Zibanejad will have some time to heal if it is a significant injury.

Bubble players Zac Jones, Alex Belzile, Riley Nash and Ben Harpur were also in the first-game group lineup.
