Rapidly growing Dripping Springs ends development moratorium

The city’s development moratorium started late last year due to unprecedented and explosive homebuilding growth within the city limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction.DRIPPING SPRINGS — After nearly a year, the rapidly growing city of Dripping Springs is no longer under a development moratorium.

The council likely will be ready to vote on a new comprehensive plan by January 2023, Mayor Bill Foulds said. The city’s wastewater treatment plant is processing about half its capacity each day, but it’s fully committed — meaning the housing and business development projects that already received approval and are in the process of being built essentially have reserved all the remaining capacity for the treatment plant.
