Reacher Season 2 Release Date Teased By Amazon Studios Exec

Reacher season 2 has gotten a very promising update from Amazon Studios exec Vernon Sanders, including a timeline for its release. 'I think season two delivers beyond that, and I do think there's a good chance that that show will be back next year.'

Amazon Studios’ Head of Television Vernon Sanders has commented on the progress of Reacher season 2, and has hinted at a potential release date. Based on the best-selling book series by author Lee Child, Amazon’s Reacher features former Titans actor Alan Ritchson as the titular character. A former military police officer-turned-drifter, Ritchson’s Jack Reacher has a penchant for seeking out trouble and battling dangerous criminals wherever his travels take him.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY With filming on the new season only kicking off in late September, it is still not clear when audiences can expect to see Ritchson’s Jack Reacher return to their screens. However, in a recent interview with Collider, Amazon Studios’ Head of Television hinted that the sophomore season is likely to arrive sometime in 2023. Praising Ritchson’s casting in the role, Sanders suggested that season 2 will deliver beyond the expectations made by this year’s series debut.

It's going really well. Alan is back, and he is so fantastic in the role. I'm so proud of the producers [for] finding that fit for Reacher. The Reacher fans of the book, their reaction to the show has just been a dream. Season 2 is awesome. And as great as season one was, I think season two delivers beyond that, and I do think there's a good chance that that show will be back next year.

As for what challenges lay ahead for Ritchson’s Reacher, season 2 is expected to deliver a far more personal crusade for his physically imposing character. While Reacher season 1 drew its inspiration from the original Jack Reacher book, 1997’s Killing Floor, season 2 will skip ahead to the eleventh book in the series, 2007’s Bad Luck and Trouble. In this book, Reacher is faced with investigating the systematic murders of his old comrades in the U.S. Army’s 110th MP Special Investigation Unit.

Joining the cast for the new season is The Vampire Diaries’ Shaun Sipos, who is set to play David O’Donnell, one of Reacher’s former brothers-in-arms who is also heavily wrapped up in the unfolding mystery. Other actors previously confirmed for the season include Serinda Swan , Ferdinand Kingsley , and Rory Cochrane .
