REMAINER MPs plan to use Boris Johnson as a "recruiting tool" to block Brexit, it emerged today.3They are plotting to install a Labour MP such as Yvette Cooper in Downing Street so they can call a second referendum.Jo Swinson and Ed Davey, the two candidates to be next Lib Dem leader, both pledged to exploit opposition to Boris to try and win a so-called "people's vote".

"I think the big question is when faced with the prospect of a Boris Johnson trying to push through No Deal, will they put the national interest ahead of the party interest?She predicted BoJo would be a "recruiting tool" for the Lib Dems by pushing Remain voters into the party's arms. Sir Ed said he would lead efforts to pass a no-confidence vote in the Tory Government, and replace it with a cross-party Government led by a Labour backbencher such as Ms Cooper or Hilary Benn.And he dismissed Mr Johnson's plans to cut a better Brexit deal, saying: "Boris may go with his Battle of Britain suit to Brussels and get a semi-colon changed - that wouldn't be enough for Parliament.
