A Bay Area woman who went missing around Valentine's Day has been found deceased in rural Fresno County, police said.

Anu Anand Hobson, 53, and her husband Gregory Grant Hobson, 61, were reported missing on Feb. 15 by an individual who had"." Fairfield police issued a missing persons report for the couple and, during the course of their investigation, say they got a hit on their silver 2021 Toyota Tacoma on Elk Grove Boulevard in Sacramento. The day after the missing persons report was filed, police spotted and arrested Gregory Hobson driving around Fairfield in the vehicle.
But Anu Hobson remained missing until Friday, when investigators say they found her"burned remains" in a rural part of Fresno County. In a press release, Fairfield police said DNA testing was used to identify the remains. Due to the ongoing investigation, police are withholding information about how they discovered the location of her body.
"Our thoughts are with Anu’s family as they receive this heartbreaking news. We can only hope this discovery brings some level of closure to the family as they grieve," police said in aGregory Hobson is being held at the Justice Center Detention Facility in Fairfield. He has been charged with one count of murder and is due in court Thursday afternoon for arraignment.
