The debate starts at 7 p.m. While not open to the general public, here are some ways to watch it.
These five candidates competing for the GOP gubernatorial nomination will participate in Tuesday's debate at Gettysburg College. The event, featuring Jake Corman, Joe Gale, Charlie Gerow, Melissa Hart, and Nche Zama, begins at 7 p.m.PennLive’s Facebook pageThe 90-minute debate is sponsored by coalition of media organizations including Spotlight PA and its founding partners: PennLive/The Patriot-News, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Trib Total Media, and WITF.
Scott LaMar, host of WITF’s “Smart Talk,” will moderate the debate with questions posed by PennLive’s Ivey DeJesus and WITF’s Scott Blanchard. Other GOP candidates in this contest to be decided in the May 17 primary are Lou Barletta, Doug Mastriano, Bill McSwain and Dave White.Campaigns for Dave White and Bill McSwain referencedto their participation in debates that were rejected by the event organizers. Barletta also signed that letter as did Corman but Corman decided to participate anyway. Barletta’s campaign didn’t respond.
The winner of the Republican nomination will take on Democrat Josh Shapiro and any third-party candidates in the Nov. 8 general election.
