The wireless carrier is expanding is footprint in the region and opening brick-and-mortar stores. Another one is scheduled to open on Nov. 2 at 2058 Fruitville Pike in Manheim Township, Lancaster County. Consumer Cellular opened its first store in November 2022 and expects to have 25 stores in operation across the U.S. by the end of the year.
The chain was founded in 1995 in Portland, Oregon and specializes in affordable no-contract cellphones and service plans primarily for those in 50-plus demographic. Its commercials feature actor Ted Danson.
