-related accident in the county’s history, it’s up to her son Troy , proteges Rebecca-Diane and Amos , and the rest of her staff to keep her theater camp going. The film—written by Gordon, Platt, Noah Galvin, and Nick Lieberman—deftly captures the high emotional stakes of being a theater kid, whether you’re still a child or a full-grown adult. The story itself is less about the campers and more about the somewhat delusional adults running it, which is a bit of a shame.
Much like a true theatrical production, this movie is at its best when it embraces its entire ensemble. Patti Harrison, Ayo Edebiri, Nathan Lee Graham, Owen Thiele, Caroline Aaron, and Galvin round out the adult cast, each with their own laugh-out-loud contribution.is a charming story about how these kinds of obsessives in particular never let their dreams die, even when maybe they should.
