First released in 2013 and co-created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, it was announced on Tuesday night that Adult Swim had severed all ties with Roiland. In a brief statement released on social media, the brand stated that:"Adult Swim has ended its association with Justin Roiland. Rick and Morty will continue. The talented and dedicated crew are hard at work on Season 7.
In 2018, Adult Swim signed Roiland and Harmon on for a 70-episode deal for Rick and Morty, which sees the show continue through to Season 10, which will now see the final four be completed without Roiland, who will also be recast as the voice performer for both Rick and Morty, as well as several of the supporting characters, with Harmon going forward as the sole executive producer.
