“We cannot allow taxpayer dollars to be used to fund groups that engage in such radical and deplorable rhetoric,” Councilman Robert Holden wrote.

Nantasha Williams , the committee’s chair, and other pols and Council staffers running the session failed to stop him or even object to the remarks.

“Did you see those Asian people that just were talking?” he said. “I live in Rego Park now. That’s the most racist neighborhood I’ve ever been in, and it’s nothing but Asians… Holden called on the Council to stop “all funding to VOCAL-NY until they cut ties with Mr. Powell and other radical racists.” He also said members of the group “should be required to complete sensitivity and anti-bias training before receiving future funding from the City Council.”
