A number of asylum seekers are arriving in the New York City suburbs.
Rockland County health officials are working to make sure places are suitable as shelters for migrants. FOX 5's Richard Giacovas reports.Less than a week after Mayor Eric Adams announced hundreds of migrants would be staying at the Armonk Inn and Suites, the Rockland County health department put a notice up claiming Armoni needed a permit if it was going to operate as a temporary shelter.
"We brought a case that said that you can't convert a hotel into a shelter without going through several processes, and the courts have upheld that as well."
