On Sunday, Russian forces hit a base near Poland, and a new poll showed 69 percent of Americans think Putin will invade other countries.

"The president has been clear repeatedly that the United States will work with our allies to defend every inch of NATO territory, and that means every inch. If there is a military attack on NATO territory, it would cause the invocation of Article Five and we would bring the full force of the NATO alliance to bear in responding to it," he told host Margaret Brennan.Sunday morning that was 15 miles away from the border with Poland, which is a NATO member.

Brennan on Sunday asked Sullivan if"that was an accidental errant shot?" to which he responded:"All I will say is that if Russia attacks, fires upon, takes a shot at NATO territory, the NATO alliance would respond to them." Most Americans are concerned that Russia will expand its invasion beyond Ukraine, according to the latest CBS News poll. The survey, which was conducted between March 8 and 11, found that 69 percent of Americans think Russia"plans to invade other countries in Europe" as opposed to 31 percent who believe it will invade only Ukraine.

However, retired Army general Barry McCaffrey said that Russia taking over Western Europe is"not even in the cards." "The Russians would be squashed if they tried to attack Poland, Romania, never mind a massive movement to take Western Europe. It's not even in the cards," he said on Sunday during a TV appearance on."However, what is in the cards is that NATO has now pulled itself together in dramatic fashion. I think Biden's team [has] been brilliant in the way they handled this, moved forward as an alliance, not as a U.S. unilateral move.
