A German court sentenced a Russian man to life in prison for shooting dead a former Chechen rebel leader in Berlin at the behest of Moscow, in a case that has further frayed already tense relations between Germany and Russia
that is now completed and awaiting certification to start operating.

He had lived in Germany as an asylum seeker since 2016, though his asylum application had been rejected before he was killed.
