Rutgers basketball is expected to add Temple to its non-conference slate.
The contest will mark the first meeting between the former Atlantic 10 foes since the 2013-14 season -- Rutgers’ first and only campaign as a member of the American Athletic Conference -- when the Scarlet Knights defeated the Owls in Piscataway and fell in Philadelphia. Rutgers is 15-32 against the Owls all-time.
Rutgers is also expected to host Central Connecticut State at Jersey Mike’s Arena as part of its non-conference slate, NJ Advance Media has learned. The news leaves Rutgers with 30 games booked and one more slot left to fill on its schedule. The Scarlet Knights are expected to complete their non-conference slate with another low-major opponent.A season-opening multi-team event that features home games against Columbia, Sacred Heart and UMass-Lowell.
