The Marching Scarlet Knights was one of 10 bands chosen to perform at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade next year.
will help kick off next year’s holiday season at Macy’s 2023 Thanksgiving Day Parade.
This will be the first time the Marching Scarlet Knights will be featured in the legendary parade in New York City. The band will be under the leadership of Todd Nichols, the Rutgers director of university bands and athletic bands, and Julia Baumanis, assistant director of bands. “To be invited to march in the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is an incredible honor and quite honestly a ‘bucket-list’ wish for our band members, teaching staff and directors,” Nichols continued.
Although Nov. 23 of next year will be their first time in the Macy’s parade, members of the Marching Scarlet Knights have sported their red, black and white at other high-profile events over the years.
