BRITS are bracing themselves for more hot weather this week after cooler temperatures today bring welcome respite from the Saharan Bubble heatwave.
Discussing Tuesday's weather, Met Office meteorologist Mark Wilson told The Sun Online: "We're going to be seeing a bright start to the day."We will see the strongest sunshine on Thursday - where temperatures will reach 25C in the south."The cooler weather will come as a welcome relief for some after Saturday became the hottest day of the year so far.
Brits made the most of the sun by firing up BBQs - while others headed to the beach and gathered in beer gardens.A downpour of "blood rain" in Scotland left an orange dust on cars.On Saturday night, 15.8mm of rain fell in Edinburgh during a thunderstorm while heavy rain also struck as far south as Leicester.
The incredible total was recorded by the German lightning-tracking website blitzortung.org between midday and 10pm on Saturday.
