Authorities investigate the scene of a fatal shooting Thursday March 30, 2023, near the intersection of San Felipe and Mid Lane in Houston. No arrests have been made, and authorities believe the shooting was a targeted killing.in what police called a targeted killing on a street near the River Oaks District shopping center.
Darrell Gentry, 26, died in the entrance of a parking garage on Mid Lane after being shot, police said. Gentry was identified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.The shooting happened at about 6:10 p.m. Thursday in the 2100 block of Mid Lane, a mixed-use area between the River Oaks neighborhood and the West Loop. Two men were believed to have shot at Gentry multiple times while he was driving a Mercedes Benz sedan, police said.
On Friday, police said Gentry was found dead in a parking lot garage. He had been shot at least once. The attack was believed to be targeted, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said on Thursday night. The two men fled the scene in a black Suburu SUV, police said. No other information about the men or their vehicle has been released.No arrests have been announced in connection to the shooting.
