Politicans said Biden laid out a pragmatic agenda for improving America, opposing Russian attack on Ukraine
Local Democratic politicians cheered President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address Tuesday, pointing to an array of pledges that align with their goals for San Diego.
“I think the president showed very steady leadership as he talked about how we can avoid getting into a direct war with the Russians while standing up for Ukraine and democracy around the world,” she said. “I was really happy that he highlighted child care,” she said. “I know for families in San Diego this is a huge issue. We have some of the highest cost of child care in the country. Making permanent the expanded and improved child tax credit would also be helpful.”
“This was the #SOTU the country needed to hear from @POTUS. San Diego stands ready to help build a better America and address the real challenges our communities face, from housing affordability and homelessness to infrastructure and public safety,” Gloria tweeted.
