Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian saw 'a bunch of positives' in the Crimson Tide's narrow victory over the Longhorns.
The banged-up quarterbacks were some of the “bad luck” Sarkisian felt afflicted the Longhorns. Another was the controversial non-safety, targeting call that saved Alabama two points in the second half. He had a “thoughtful discussion” with the officials on the sidelines, but they couldn’t review if Young had committed an intentional grounding due to NCAA rules.
The game set an attendance record with 105,213 people encircling the field, spending most of it on their feet. The noise contributed to 15 Tide penalties, a high mark for a Nick Saban team. “The energy in the stadium created uncharacteristic errors on both sides. I like to think we had a little bit of part to do with that.”
