Singapore-based budget airline Scoot has brought back credit and debit card processing fees for flights originating from Singapore. This decision follows a six-year period during which the airline had eliminated these fees globally. The fees, ranging from 1.05% to 2.48% depending on the card type, also apply to flights departing from Australia, Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. Scoot states the reinstatement is due to costs incurred from credit card companies and payment solution providers. However, processing fees are exempt for transactions using alternative payment methods like PayPal, Scoot vouchers, and fully paid KrisFlyer miles.
