The west coast is more likely to see the warmer weather as we head further into this week.
Some warmer spring weather for Scots is finally on the horizon as temperatures in certain regions could peak at above 20C this week - which is hotter than it will be in Madrid, Spain.
A graph posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, by the Met Office shows that temperatures in Oban could peak at 21C on Thursday May 2. Meanwhile, the forecaster's prediction for Newcastle-upon-Tyne is 12C on that day. However, the west of Scotland will see the 'best' of the dry and sunny weather, according to Met Office meteorologist Aidan McGivern who advised that a weather front from the southeast could push temperatures up in Scotland from Thursday.
